I recently chose to opt out of a higher interest rate on my credit card. They processed me opting out on the 13th. My next payment due date was the 16th. I was late, and it didn’t go through until the 17th. Can they still raise my APR, because of the late payment, if I have closed the account?

yes because you are still paying the card off.. You may have opted out but all that means is you can’t use the card anymore, that card remains active until you pay it off.. In fact it is twice as important now to make every payment on time…
Any time a credit card wants to raise your APR, you have the opportunity to opt out of it. If you call them they have to keep your credit card at the current APR, however, once the card expires then you will not be able to use it anymore.
