can I use Godaddy servers for my web design business?

I have a small web design business, and I do not want to spend thousands of dollars buying and running my own dedicated servers so can I purchase my clients’ domain names and host their website through Godaddy? Is this bad business practice? Is this legal? Please let me know what you think.

Go Daddy do offer a resellers program which is probably what you are talking about however, our clients have told us their control panels are not the easiest for them to use. But they are very cheap.

However, the reseller market is very competitive and considering you will also have to provide 24/7 support to your clients for all hosting/email issues etc, consider what you can charge first to see if it will be viable enough for you.

Sometimes it can be hard to compete with all the very low cost plans now available to customers.

You can also consider the ‘multi’ hosting plans like we offer. For example for your websites you run or manage etc where you only require one control panel you can host multiple sites on the one plan.

    Hope these comments help.

Just look at their resellers account, thats what you need , buy a block of space and then sell them in small chunks to host websites

I don’t see why that would be illegal or bad practice, so I say yeah, go ahead!

    Absolutely fine.

Just don’t lie and say that you have your own servers that you are hosting on.
