Can someone give me some run down on getting credit card processing before I sign up for its service?

In a few days’ time, I will be getting credit card processing service. Any tips or ideas before I sign up?

be sure that you really need it. they come out of the woodwork, take pictures of you and your biz, take you to lunch. anything to get you to sign the bottom line, which is thousands of dollars! get to a level where you can’t possibly go on without it first! these are predators your dealing with. so don’t get fooled because you think that sticker will make your biz more attractive to people. people will pay you regardless of the method if your stuff is really the stuff they want or need. think about it from the customers point of veiw, not from yours. it’s hard to do this when you are a new biz owner. so i’ll tell you this…sell the service not the price. where you enter the market is where you’ll stay! don’t sell yourself cheap, because you’ll only put yourself out of biz. that credit card machine only works if it has a lot of customers to process. since your obviously new, i’d say send ‘em away, after the free lunch, of course, and tell them you will consider their offer at a later time. now that is good biz sense!

Stick to the basics. Compare credit card processing companies with regards to their fees and service. Get two or three prospective companies from your list and run background checks on them. When you finally choose from among them, don’t sign up in a hurry. Negotiate for the best deals. Haggle for the competitive pricing and be firm in your stand.
I came across an article that answers your question. Just visit the link that I provided below.

Before you sign up have you determined how long you contract is and how much is the early termination fee? That fee can run several thousand dollars !
I use millenium. There is no long term contract and no early termination fee.
