Creating a website for a simple business?

Hi all,

I have a task at work to create a simple website for a moving business.

Just a site that has the contact info and a little background about the company.

Does anyone have any advice about domain names, hosting, etc?

I’m new to this =)

A friend suggested godaddy and brinkster, are these simple to use for a newbie like me?

Thanks!!

  1. Think before following says:

When I started my business I used godaddy and it was easy to use and develop a website. I was happy with it and still use it.

It may well be from your current U.S. internet provider.

If your current internet provider is Earthlink, AOL, SBC Global and others which provide a homepage; you can easily FTP your own webpage designs as a new homepage created by DreamWeaver, FrontPage or even Netscape Composer. And using a redirection service such as mydomain.com or the forwarding of a parked domain name at godaddy.com, you can easily "mask" the homepage URL with a proper domain name. So in a sense, you have a working ecommerce website disguised as a homepage while still paying your normal monthly Internet provider’s access and hosting fee of the homepage.

    Good luck!
