I need to store my clients’ credit card information for recurring monthly payments for my small business. I currently use Microsoft Office Accounting to process credit cards but there is no way to store the information in it and it must be entered each month manually. This forces me to just store the clients’ credit card information on a piece of paper which is obviously insecure.
What are my options for securely storing my clients’ credit card information?

The most secure way of storing your clients’ payment information would be handwriting the info on carbon copy invoices, and placing them in a filing cabinet. Alphabetize & file by last name or business. You are able to send a receipt (just cut out the CC# in the copy you are mailing out first), and have a copy or two more for your records. This is what my boyfriend does at his work (where I also help out sometimes, filing such information, shipping, and running credit cards), and it’s more reliable – not to mention convenient for you.. What happens if your computer gets hacked or a virus? You need to have a non-digital back-up.
