I have tried to look online for tips on how to create a good domain name for your online business website, it just seems that every suggestion I have is already taken and I need to have a .Com website. Does anybody know of other tips and ideas on how I can find a good domain name for my website? what should I think about, what should I consider? Any other good websites that sell Domain’s and Host besides GoDaddy.Com? I am going to be selling all types of Office Supplies, everything you can think of that you see in a office or home office, I will be selling. I tried so many different suggestions using business supplies, office supplies, office products, etc.. One website suggest that I try adding a – (dash) between the words in my domain name, that website seem to think that its a good idea even though you do not see it so much. Its just the IT guy that will be creating my website for me thinks that having that – (dash) will cause problems when it comes to advertising my business. He says that it will have a hard time showing up on most search engines because of the – (dash), is that true? Can someone give me some advice on have a – (dash) in my website as well? Any websites that I might be able to look up that will give me some ideas on how to create the perfect website name or domain name for my business website? Any help or advice, or pointing me in the right direction will be highly appreciated. Thank you

How about Office Perfection? How to make any office perfect.
You can also pick up OfficePerfection.com at MyExtraDomains.com.
Keep it short and kind of poetic. Don’t have punctuation in your domain name because there are search engine problems as well as problems people have when they try typing in the url from memory. Also, don’t be a cheap bastard, and pay google to put your information on the top of the business category including the maps. It may cost you, even more than the phone book. But trust me, paying a website designer to get to the front page of google will be more expensive.
I am not familiar with domains, but the links that I posted might help answer some of your questions.
1. There are other domains available. Here in the states also consider .ME as a possibility. Yes, most people are familiar with .COM, however if your choices are limited then you need to think outside of the box.
2. Try adding a single hyphen to the domain name. For example:
Rather than: http://www.circuitcity.com
Consider: http://www.circuit-city.com
Keep in mind though, if your competitors site is provide a similar benefit, you will lost sales.
But I wouldn’t go hyphen crazy. Some website developers might ask that you refrain to the adding of a hyphen, but you might need to do what you need to do. Remember, you want your visitors to get to your site with little to no thinking at all. I mean really how can you tell someone to goto http://www.my-yahoo-answers.com, it would be a nightmare.
It doesn’t affect how your site shows up in search engines. In fact, it would help with rankings if your domain name included an excellent keyword that was following the hyphen.
3. Good website hosting companies?
Try looking into Network Solutions as a hosting provider. I’ve used GoDaddy in the past, but find that there website is SERIOUSLY difficult to navigate through. Network Solutions prides themselves on great customer service, and have awards to show for it. I would look at price, ease of use and customer service for the top three things that are important to me.
Lastly, I think you could be putting too much emphasis on the domain name of your site.
Goto http://www.orangesoda.com
You would think that this is a company that provides people with "orangesoda", but it doesn’t. I believe that this company used orangesoda.com as a statement to show that the domain name really has nothing to do with the company.
Or even godaddy.com. Anything in that domain name tell you about the webhosting/services they provide??
It sounds to me that you are putting together an affiliate site, so make sure that you have a competent designer, and proper content management software implemented into the design. Otherwise, you might be digging a very deep grave for yourself.
Just my two cents.
