I’m thinking about starting a business from home. Mainly focused on creating flyers, post cards, lables, and mailers for companies that need help in small clerical or marketing departments. I also wouldn’t mind running errands for busy people, elderly people that can not get out of the house, or anyone in need of help with their daily errands. Such as an Errand Girl. I have no idea what to charge for fuel cost and mileage and would like an example as to what to charge for such tasks. Any help would be appreciate. I understand that I may have to get licensed and bonded. I also wouldn’t mind being professional and purchasing some type of monogrammed shirt or a simple uniform to show my professional side. I’m just a Mom that wants to work from home. I have a phone, computer, and acess to internet.

Well you would have to charge 1 of 2 ways ,1st way being charge a flat rate but with your cost of gas being set higher than gas will get.2nd charge 5 cents higher or more than fgas is that day so your charges you can say are variable according to gas prices. But if u choose the flat rate option you have too figure that gas will get no higher than say $3.00 a gallon so you figure $3.15 just to be safe, gives you room to work with, then you add on time ,the amount of time to deliver something……So say you have to deliver something 5 miles away you charge $3.15 for gas cause i hope your car gets more that that per mile plus what you charge for your service , lets say $15 ..so thats $18.15 to pick it up and drop it off.The other thing you need to think about is if your grocery shopping for someone there should be a hourly rate for that too ontop of your pick up and delivery. But to give the elderly a break you could say that you will put away the groceries for nothing.or at a discounted rate.
well if you are gonna start a business anywhere first after you have a name and a slogan if you want you need to join the BBB(better business buero) that wrell make ppl more likely to use your aservise and then about the charging for fuel charge how every much a gallon is down there and for the miles or gallons that you use or say the gas is 2.50 and you go 5 miles charge 20 dollars just for gass
