What are the requirements to have group health insurance?

My husband and I work together out of our home. For all intents and purposes, we have formed a small business of Internet marketing through ClickBank, an affiliate marketing system. However, although I work for/with him daily, we have not incorporated in any way and all involved paperwork is in his name only.

We want to start a family, and the only way for maternity to be covered in Texas is through a group health insurance plan. What paperwork would we need to prove that we are indeed a small company with 2 employees and not two people trying to scam the system?

If you don’t know the answer to the question, but you do know the best place to find the answer, please let us know that instead. I don’t think I want to fill out quote paperwork because that just leads to a thousand calls a day, but I also don’t think a lawyer would be the person to contact.

At first, you may collect some infomation by inputing the relevant keywords in search engine,if you get good luck there ,then your problem is solved.nevertheless,if you could not find the ideal answer for your question by doing that, here http://www.healthinsurance-onlinetips.info/health-insurance-for-free.htm is the resource i suggest.

Contact your state chamber of commerce, or state department of insurance or a local insurance agent.

One of them will be able to help you.

Texas allows for a 2-person group health plan (even husband and wife). The specific details of how to do this will differ somewhat by insurance company.

I strongly recommend you contact a health insurance agent — that specializes in group health plans for small businesses. If Blue Cross is in Texas, you can call them directly (or go to their website)

Just to give you an idea on the documentation:

    1. I had to produce a copy of my business license.
    2. I had to show evidence that my spouse was an employee by showing a recent payroll filing to the State.
    3. Loads of paperwork to fill out, nothing hard, but just a pain.

Also, a lot of small group plans cannot be formed on just any day — in my case, coverage started on the quarters (i.e., Jan 1, Apr 1, Jul 1, Oct 1)
