Hi there!
Here’s what I was able to research myself, a volume cap is the maximum amount of tax-exempt private bonds that maybe issued during a calendar year. Most merchant accounts don’t limit the amount of processing.
I am not 100% sure but I believe that when you apply for a merchant account you disclose annual sales volume. When that is exceeded most merchant services ask that you reapply. Once you exceed your approved sales, the merchant services will contact the business to verify information on the sales. I own a small business and we grew very quickly. In one month we had exceed 1/3 of our previous years annual sales. Once this happened the merchant contacted our customers to verify purchases while the held funds. We reapplied several days later.I hope this is helpful.
