It really depends on the bank. The best thing to do is find out your credit score, and then go to YOUR bank, and tell them your credit score, and hopefully you have history with your bank (not too many overdrafts) do not go and apply for a both of cards, because that will only lower your score more. YOUR bank is the best bet, you can also set up an automatic payment for a minimum amount each month, and they might be able to work with you. Ask for a tiny limit, maybe $100… buy $20 of gas each month, and then pay it off each month, this is a good way to increase you credit score, and you will be able to borrow more in no time! I hope this helps

Last I knew it was 450.

Don’t listen to that poster, 450 won’t get you approved for a car loan at 10%.

Through some research it seems to be approved at normal terms you will have to have a minimum FICO score of 700. That also means you have no active collections, judgments, tax liens and bankruptcies on your credit files. Every lender has different guidelines and they don’t always want to tell you their minimum approval scores, but I would shop around and ask. Try a local credit union.

If you can’t get an unsecured credit card check out Bank of America’s and Wells Fargo’s secured credit card programs. They have low annual fees, no junk fees, a decent interest rate and you can most likely qualify for unsecured status within 12 months.

    Good Luck
