i have come to US 7 months ago on work visa. i do not have any credit history. i want to get an unsecured credit card from citibank. which card should i apply for which will be relatively easy to get?i do not mind a low credit limit but i need an unsecured card.please advise.

To get an unsecured credit card, every company will run a credit check on you. The best way to start would be to go to your local bank or CU and ask for a secured credit card. It will require anywhere from $100-$500 deposit to hold onto; after a year, if you have show responsible behavior with the card, the bank will let the money back into your account and promote you to an unsecured credit card.
It’s just not as easy anymore as you would think. It was this type of "give anyone credit" mentality that got us into this current fiasco.
